FAQs

Do I need Life or Personal Coaching?

If you have challenges, goals, ambitions or desires in your life that you need support with, then using a life coach to help you achieve these goals may be worthwhile for you. Life coaching is directed towards moving forward, positive change, taking action, personal development and achieving results. A Life or Personal coach is skilled at getting the best from you, helping you discover your own best answers, tapping into your own internal motivation, getting you in touch with what matters most to you, and encouraging you to feel great about taking action. A coach also adds energy and accountability to the process and your life by supporting you and believing in you with enthusiasm!

How much does Coaching cost?

Costs will vary depending on the experience and professional background of the coach. Life, Career and Corporate Coaching varies from $95/hour to up to $200/hour. My rate varies depending upon the frequency and amount of coaching. Coaching packages are available that make it more economical to have coaching three times per month for half an hour or an hour per week.

How can I justify the expense?

A Life Coach provides a range of services to meet your specific needs, and also your budget. Your goals and ambitions can only be quantified by you. It’s useful to ask yourself, what is the cost in your life, or business, if you do not achieve your goals?

Will Life Coaching be successful for me?

Life Coaching methodology has been developed over many years and through many case studies. Life Coaching as a profession is being continually refined and valued. Through the International Coaching Federation, the profession continues to expand, grow and develop as an important human development practice throughout the world.

Does Life Coaching provide psychological or health counseling?

No. Life Coaching is about getting the things in life you have always wanted but have not yet achieved—life achievements such as goals, ambitions, life transitions, health recovery, financial planning, happiness, relationships, job attainment, and career changes. Many Life Coaches are skilled in areas such as career achievement, job searching and attainment, living a balanced life, business planning, achieving wealth, and successfully completing education, relationships or many other general life areas. These topics are not typically the domain of a Psychologist or therapeutic counselor and can therefore be supported by Life Coaches.

Why use a Life Coach instead of another coach?

Your primary requirement for using a Life Coach is an immediate need. By using a formal methodology to maximize success, a Life Coach can help you successfully achieve your immediate goal. We genuinely want our clients to develop skills to succeed in life after our initial interaction. We not only work with you to achieve your immediate requirement, we work to improve your total self confidence and outlook with a set of new skills. Once you have experienced the services of A Life Coaching you will see the world through new eyes.

How does Life Coaching work?

Usually coaching is done over the phone, but is also done face to face or in person. The coach and client usually talk weekly, or 3 times a month. In the calls you talk about what has gone well and what hasn’t, if you accomplished your specific goals for that week, and what the next steps are. Throughout this process, the coach is asking powerful questions that help you access your best information, talents, emotions and self. The coach also provides support, objectivity, structure, energy, positivity, insight and tools.

How long would we work together?

Most coaching assignments range between three and six months. Some partnerships last one to two years and longer depending upon the client’s needs. Generally, I provide services to my clients as long as they love the coaching, and the results!

How can I become a Life Coach?

Great coaches are authentic, successful people with a knack for getting the most out of life. They have a sincere interest in others, without a need for controlling what others think or do. Coaching is a challenging but very rewarding career area. For more information on the coaching profession, contact www.coachfederation.org or www.coachinc.com.

What Results Can I Expect with Coaching?

We cannot guarantee that you will achieve any specific results. You will achieve as much or as little as you put into it. It will require you to invest your own time and energy into achieving your goals. But these are reasonable expectations for your Coaching partnership:

  • You will have a Life Coach who cares deeply about you, your success, your happiness, your fulfillment and balance in life.
  • You will be better able to tackle the barriers and obstacles that get in the way of achieving what you desire.
  • You will develop specific plans for removing those barriers and increasing the supports that motivate you to do your best and to stay focused on your goals.
  • You will discover new alternatives and approaches to consider in achieving your desired outcomes.
  • You will increase your awareness of choices and make better decisions.

  • You will be able to find more successful solutions to your challenges and concerns.
  • You will be able to define and achieve your personal and professional goals faster and with more ease than would be possible otherwise.
